A Bad Day

Today was a bad day.
Well, for starters, the alarm went off during our recess. Not any ordinary alarm. The fire alarm.
It went off at the start of our recess.
Fat lot of good it did. By the time everyone got down to the gymnasium, 10 mins was gone.
The teachers then took another 10 mins preaching on how we should get down faster.11 mins was simply too slow.
It was a false alarm as well. However, it wasn't a drill. The alarm mysteriously went off in the canteen, and the school had no idea why.
But even so, 10 mins + 10 mins = 20 mins. That's the whole of our recess!
A low groan issued from the Secondary One students as they heard the bell go when recess was up.
So, the teachers agreed to give us 10 mins for our recess. Pathetic.
Obviously, a whole stampede of students trampled down the halls into the canteen. Long queues formed as students lined up.
I was among the last in the line. When I got infront, only one dumpling was left.
Apparently that one fell on the floor.
I scowled and left. I proceeded on to the much shorter queue. They weren't giving out biscuits. Instead they were giving out what looked like blackcurrent juice.
I bought one of those juices and went to my table. Then when I got back, my friend came with the biscuits.
I wanted to scream at her. I was so mad.
